UMD: A Globally Connected University
Retroactive Credit Approval
This program is for UMD students who have studied abroad on an Affiliate Program or Other Approved Program without EA approval who would like to apply for retroactive credit approval. EA cannot guarantee your transfer of credits. The retroactive credit approval process is as follows:
- Ensure that your transcript from your study abroad experience is sent to EA.
- Upon return, contact your EA advisor to schedule a retroactive course approval meeting.
- Your EA advisor will provide the course approval paperwork that you will have signed by your academic advisor. Once the completed form is returned to EA, your EA advisor will evaluate your transcript to apply eligible coursework to your UMD degree.
- Your student account will be charged the corresponding EA fee for Affiliate programs or Other Approved Programs ($500 for summer or winter, $1,200 for semester or year long program).
