Three projects from my lab have been commercialized by startup Windsor Interfaces, Inc. (PhotoMesa - a personal image management tool; DateLens - a calendar program; NoteLens - a note-taking program). The International Children's Digital Library (www.icdlbooks.org) is a public website we built that offers free children's books from around the world, and attracts a lot of attention from children, parents, teachers and librarians alike. My 2003 book, The Craft of Information Visualization, summarizes a decade of innovation from our lab. My current work on evaluating usability of voting systems is having a real impact on these new, important technologies.
