Coursework: I teach an introductory course in public and community health that addresses core principles, organizational structure, professional disciplines, policy/practice and global health linkages AND a public health theory course for College Park Scholars Global Public Health students Fulbright Fellowship: I was a Fulbright-Pai Fellow during the 2008-9 academic year at Manipal University, Karnataka, India. Winter Study Abroad; I lead a winter study abroad to India each year, entitled "East Meets West: Contrasting Public Health Priorities, Pragmatics & Polemics in the U.S. and India". I am involved in collaborative research on adolescent health issues with colleagues in India. Examples of Current Research Projects: I am working with Indian collaborators to develop a survey to assess the prevalence of adolescent risk and protective behaviors and its psychosocial correlates among community samples of Indian youth. Outreach Activities and Affiliations: I have worked and lived in Southeast Asia (3 months in Bali, Indonesia researching the integration of community nutrition programs into the primary health care system) and the Caribbean (2 years in Grenada, West Indies) developing and delivering community based public health and nutrition programs.
