Dr. Aldoory is Professor of Communications, and Associate Dean for Research and Programming in the UMD College of Arts and Humanities. From 2011 to 2015 she was Endowed Chair and Director of the Herschel S. Horowitz Center for Health Literacy and Associate Professor in Behavioral & Community Health at the School of Public Health. Her research focuses on how audiences are affected by health campaigns, news and risk communication and how they use health information. She studies differences by gender, race, age, and ethnicity, She is co-editor of the book, "Gender Challenge to Media: Diverse Voices from the Field" and author of several articles published in communication journals.
