Leaving my family and friends back home was the hardest part of studying abroad, but when arriving to my host city I made so many new friends from across the U.S. studying at my university. It may be scary to face such a big adventure, but you and hundreds of other students are in the same situation. So relax and be outgoing to make those lasting friendships!

Advice for future #TerpsAbroad: If you are thinking of studying abroad, give it a chance. This life-changing experience may be way out of your comfort zone, but it’s a great way to get to know yourself on a different level and change your surroundings for a few months. In the end, you're only committing to this change for four months; you'll learn so much from the experience in every capacity. Live in the moment and enjoy the adventure.
