Diversity Abroad Student Workshop: Identity Abroad Series: First-Gen & Abroad

Diversity Abroad is hosting its annual Identity Abroad Series that elevates the voices of students with diverse identities as they share about their time spent studying and living abroad. As a member of Diversity Abroad, these workshops are available to UMD students seeking additional knowledge, support and resources around study abroad.

The upcoming Identity Abroad Series: First-Gen & Abroad is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a panel of students who identify as first-gen about what it is like to live and study abroad. Join us to hear about how fellow students have navigated the global experience process, from searching for a program, to spending a term (or longer) abroad. Students will share how their identity as a first-generation college student (first in their family to attend a 4-year college or university), as well as other identities, may have influenced their experiences studying and working abroad. You will also learn about a variety of resources available for students interested in pursuing a global experience.
