Are you an undergraduate student, Pell Grant recipient, and U.S. citizen with international interests? You may be eligible to apply for the U.S. State Department’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which provides up to $5,000!

The deadline to apply for in-person programs or internships start between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024 is March 9, 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific Time.

The National Scholarships Office and the Office of Education Abroad imagine that you may have many questions about the Gilman scholarship, the application process, and study abroad in general. Please join staff from both offices to learn about these topics and ask any questions you may have.

  • a U.S. citizen
  • a Pell Grant recipient 
  • undergraduate (includes all majors)
