Studying abroad brings you to a new environment filled with challenging and exciting experiences that can sometimes be stressful and overwhelming. You will need to rely on your resilience and problem solving skills and know the resources that are available to help you be successful. Join staff from the UMD Counseling Center and Education Abroad to learn strategies and good practices to maintain strong mental wellness while abroad.

By attending this session you will:
Understand factors that support good mental health & how to identify stressors.
Recognize the impact that new and challenging environments may have on mental wellness.
Learn strategies for problem-solving and coping with stress.
Understand how to use UMD resources including CISI and WellTrack to prepare and maintain for care as well as respond to issues that occur on site.
Become familiar with the process to request accommodations for on-site arrangements (academic, housing, etc.).
