NEW COURSE: Designing the World’s Future - The UN Sustainable Development Goals

The University of Maryland is committed to addressing and proposing solutions to the grand challenges facing the world today. The Office of International Affairs, the School of Public Policy and the Academy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship have teamed up to launch a new, innovative one-credit course for Spring 2021 that introduces first-year students to the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a blueprint for addressing grand challenges to achieve a more equitable and sustainable future for all.

Through this course, UMD students will gain global skills working across cultures with peers from institutions around the world, including Mexico, China, and New Zealand. Students will also hear guest lectures from international experts including those who were involved in the creation of the SDGs.
