RMIT is Australia's most international and culturally diverse university. It is an urban university with about 57,000 students total, and the business school is located a few blocks from other university buildings.

Host City
Melbourne is the capital of Victoria, Australia and the second most populous city in the country. The Economist Group’s Intelligence Unit ranked it as the World’s Most Liveable City for the past four years. Melbourne is the birthplace of Australian film, television, the Australian Impressionist Art movement, and Australian dance moves such as New Vogue and the Melbourne Shuffle. In addition to culture, Melbourne is home to two of the four major banks in Australia, the National Australia Bank and the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group.

RMIT does not offer on-campus housing since it's an urban campus; however, they do support a large network of off-campus living options. Off-campus options for exchange students can be found at http://www.rmitvillage.com.au/the-village/Study-Abroad-and-Exchange.html.

The RMIT Village option is highly recommended for exchange students because there is a housing shortage in Melbourne and it can be difficult to find off-campus housing without assistance.

UMD students participating in an Exchange have the benefit of paying UMD tuition rates to attend an institution abroad. For specific information on the cost of attending this Exchange, please see the UMD Exchange Cost Sheet

Tuition and fees for exchange programs are charged directly to your UMD account, which means you can apply UMD scholarships, state and federal financial aid, and alternative loans towards the cost of an exchange. Housing costs are paid directly to the host institution or on-site housing agency.

You can use the cost of attendance comparison worksheet to view how study abroad programs compare to each other and the amount you pay on campus at UMD. As always, your EA advisor (listed above) is available help you complete this worksheet and find affordable programs that fit your study abroad goals.
