Global Spotlight: Snow in the Context of Climate Change
April 14 at 12 p.m. ET

Accurately estimating rainfall and snowfall is crucial to understand the availability of water resources on Earth, and thus providing reliable inputs for numerical weather prediction models as well as hydrological models. Learn about international scholar Lisa Milani’s research on remote sensing snow precipitation using satellites to improve snow retrieval algorithms.

The Global Spotlight is an effort to highlight international knowledge exchange and an opportunity for cross-cultural and cross-discipline conversations. It is also a great opportunity to create an international scholar community at UMD. The presentations will be around 15 minutes followed by questions and general conversation.
