Angela Lee

Hi, I’m Angie. I’m currently a senior bioengineering major in the Clark School of Engineering. I fell in love with traveling and meeting people with diverse backgrounds during her exchange abroad in Madrid where she studied at Universidad de Carlos III. When I’m not studying on Mckeldin mall or drinking coffee at Vigilante, you can find me exploring D.C with friends or eating College Parks famous Marathon Fries on the Engineering field!
Caleb McGill

Hello! My name is Caleb McGill. I am a first year Master's student in the International Education Policy Program. I am from South Carolina, and I studied abroad in Hong Kong during my third year of undergraduate study. I also taught English for a year in Ningbo, China after I completed my undergraduate degree in International Studies. I spend my time reading books of all genres, traveling (when possible), and taking walks and watching reality TV with my wife. I look forward to getting to know you all, learning more about your cultures, and talking about U.S. culture! Welcome to UMD!

My name is César. I am from Bogotá, Colombia where I studied Psychology and Neuroscience. I started my graduate studies in Fall 2020. And I am pursuing a PhD in Biology researching electrical properties of neurons.

Hello! My name is Kari. I am an international student from Taiwan, and I am also a transfer student to UMD. I am currently an undergrad in the Letters and Sciences major and plan to apply for Computer Science next year. The transition from a small community college to a big university is not easy so I hope my experience will help you adjust your life to UMD better. I can't wait to see you all during the orientation. Hi guys, welcome to UMD! My name is Giang Pham (Chloe). I'm a junior and double major in Math: Statistics and Economics. I'm originally from Vietnam and this is my fourth year in the US. I love hanging out with friends, cooking, shopping, and travel. I am looking forward to meeting you soon!

Kruti Bhingradiya

I am Kruti Bhingradiya. An undergraduate freshman majoring in Aerospace Engineering, I am an international student from Gujarat, India. Despite attending University online for Fall 2020, I have been quite involved with few organizations at university. I am freshmen liaison of AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) and an active member of UMD SASA(South Asian Student Association), WIAA(Women In Aeronautics and Astronautics) and SWE(Society of Women in Engineering).

Mariah James

Hi! My name is Mariah James. I am an undergraduate student majoring in Public Health Science. I am 19 years old and from Jacksonville, Florida. My mother is from Sierra Leone in West Africa and my father was born in Dominica, a small island in the Caribbean. I have lived on campus at the University since I began attending UMD. I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing my experiences!

Hi My name is Martin Pickett and I'm a English Education Major and TESOL/Japanese Minor at University of Maryland. I love exercising, learning languages, and reading books about various people around the world. I also enjoy helping people as an aspiring teacher.

Omar Tarabishi

Hi everyone! My name is Omar Tarabishi and I am a part-time MA student in the International Education Policy program at UMD. I am a graduate student, have studied abroad in Egypt and speak Arabic and English. I'm Egyptian/American/Syrian and have lived in various parts of the US like Houston, Boston and College Park. I enjoy staying active, reading during the pandemic and catching up on streaming films online!

Rahul Marri

I'm Rahul Marri, a Graduate student major in Cyber Security from India. I love travelling to new places, meeting new people and enjoying different cuisines. I like volunteering in different clubs and organizations which brings a change in society. I can make you a proper South-Indian cuisine and can suggest to you which places are nice to travel. If needed I would be happy to help and will suggest best.

My name is Ruiqi Li and I'm Chinese. I'm a first-year graduate student studying Human-Computer Interaction at the College of Information Studies (iSchool). I have been in the US since 2016 and I attended my undergrad at Purdue University in Indiana. I'm looking forward to meeting the new international students and helping them to have a good kick-start of their life in the States.

My name is Tetiana Tytko, and I'm a 1st year PhD student in Second Language Acquisition. I'm originally from Ukraine. For the past seven years, I have been teaching English as a second/foreign language to students of different age groups, various language proficiency levels, and cultural backgrounds. Here in the U.S., I've taught academic writing, supervised a writing center, and I'm passionate about exploring methods that can facilitate second language learning.

Welcome to Maryland! My name is Tim Bryson and I am a 1st year PhD student in the College of Education. I also serve as the program director for student-athlete career development within UMD athletics. I grew up in Cincinnati, OH but have spent a lot of time traveling domestically and internationally - I have visited Ecuador, Curacao, and Australia to name a few! I am very excited for you to join our Maryland family! If you want to learn more about college sports, craft beer, or how to tie a bowtie - I would love to speak with you!
