We know it is a big decision to transition to a different country. International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is here to assist you with each step of the process.
The University of Maryland seeks to enroll international students who demonstrate strong academic performance with records suggesting potential for success at Maryland. More than 10% of the students who enroll at the University of Maryland this year came from outside the U.S., placing UMD among the top 20 U.S. universities serving international students. In addition, this University is ranked 19th among those U.S. institutions hosting international scholars.

Once admitted to the University the ISSS office will contact you via email with instructions to log into UMD’s iTerp system. You will be asked to confirm if you plan to study on an F1/J1 visa or if you will remain on a different visa category.
