Brown Bag Seminar

Brown Bag Seminar

International Student and Scholar Services is pleased to announce a series of brown bag seminars open exclusively to faculty and staff at the University of Maryland, College Park. This seminar series offers resources and professional development for departmental administrators and faculty as they seek to educate and serve UMCP's diverse international community. Registration is limited to faculty and staff at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Please see the full schedule of events and sign up to attend at Additionally, please see information below about how you may receive credit towards the completion of the Global Certificate Program.

Global Certificate Program

Faculty and staff who attend a minimum number of Brown Bag Seminars or other eligible ISSS-sponsored workshops may qualify for a certificate of completion in the Global Certificate Program. Certificates may be earned in one of three tracks: the Employment track, the Cultural track, and the Academic track.

To earn a certificate of completion, a faculty/staff member must attend at least seven Brown Bag Seminars or other eligible ISSS-sponsored workshops. Four of those seven should be seminars from the same track: employment, cultural or academic. Once the faculty/staff member has attended the required number of seminars, a certificate of completion in one of the three tracks will be issued.

Certificates of completion are fantastic to include on your resume or your PRD (Performance Review and Development Process). Please click here to review a full list of our seminar offerings and their qualifying tracks. For more information, please contact Katrina Knudsen at
