The Study Abroad Fair was quite the hit this year. Many students expressed interest in studying abroad and crowded Adele Stamp Student Union with curiosity.
A crowd-drawing portion of the day included UMD's Education Abroad (EA) "Passport Day" - where EA gave away 152 free and subsidized passports thanks to a Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) grant and EA funding.
"We aimed to reach students who are underrepresented in study abroad and the majority of recipients were first gen and/or pell grant recipients," said Lauren Ruszczyk, assistant director of EA. "About seventy percent represented racial and ethnic minorities."
The event sure put a smile on the faces of 152 future study abroad Terp.
