R.H. Smith School of Business and China’s prestigious University of International Business and Economics in Beijing deliver an Executive MBA in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.
Custom MBA Program for Otis Elevator China is The Smith-Otis MBA program, developed in partnership with the University of International Business and Economics. The program includes coursework developed specifically to address the particular business needs of Otis China.
ChinaCast Partnership: The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and ChinaCast Communications Holdings Limited, a leading provider of e-learning solutions in China, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver education courses and programs to students in the People’s Republic of China.
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Nanjing Normal University’s Law School are offering a Master’s Degree Program in Criminal Justice at Nanjing Normal University. This advanced program is the first of its kind in China.
The College of Chemical and Life Sciences provides study abroad courses about China and its surrounding region and have outgoing research collaborations and exchanges.
The Phillip Merrell College of Journalism sends a Journalism School faculty member each spring to spend a week at Fudan and another week at a second leading Chinese university to conduct classes with their journalism
students, to do public lectures, etc. The department also offers Student exchange program with Hong Kong Baptist University.
Food Safety Management Program: UM is supporting the US Trade Representative and US Department of Agriculture in developing and
delivering traning in US food safety policies and practices for the Chinese Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine.
The IRIS Center joined with Microfinance Services and three independent consultants in an AusAID-funded field appraisal mission to determine the viability of a proposed multi-million dollar, multi-sector poverty reduction project focused on five counties in the Qianjiang Development Zone of the Chongqing municipality, adjoining Sichuan province.
The Center for Smart Growth Research and Education has undertaken China Land Policy and Urban Management Program, an international project, which is heavily focused on the effects of the massive urbanization process now underway in China.

U.S.-China Science and Technology Park at the University of Maryland
The University of Maryland and the Torch Program Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China are working together to establish the U.S.-China Science and Technology Park. The objective is to actively improve the collaboration of civilian use of industrial technology and small- to medium-size technology enterprises between the U.S. and China and to promote technological innovation and cooperation.
