Torben Orla Nielsen, Science Attaché at the Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) and Consulate of Denmark in Boston.

About the Speaker: Torben Orla Nielsen 
Torben Orla Nielsen is Science Attaché at the Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) and Danish Consulate in Boston. ICDK is a collaboration between the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, and currently operating seven Danish Innovation Centers globally. Nielsen has been posted in Boston since 2018. His main focus areas are connecting academia, industry, and startups in the fields of life science, green tech, and emerging technologies. Between 2013 - 18, Nielsen was posted as science counsellor at the Royal Danish Embassy in Seoul, South Korea. 
Prior to joining the Danish Foreign Service Nielsen worked at the Technical University of Denmark–DTU, focusing on industry-university collaboration, commercialization of research and support to startups spun out of DTU. Nielsen has a Master in Economics from University of Copenhagen. 

About the Moderator: Brian Dillehay 
Brian Dillehay is Associate Director for the A. James Clark School of Engineering's Global Engineering Leadership program, which offers study abroad programming for Clark School students, global experiences, ClarkLEAD onboarding, and a minor for UMD undergraduate students. The Clark School values the impact that all students can have as leaders within team based experiences both in College Park and globally. The Office of Global Engineering Leadership helps students to develop these skills through the lens of inclusive engineering practice.
