Makkie Haller

Makkie joined International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) in May 2023 after completing her M.A. in international education policy here at UMD. As a pre-arrival advisor, she works with admitted students as they obtain their I-20s, F-1 and J-1 visas, and prepare to make the move to Maryland. Previously, she has worked at UMD’s Smith School of Business, Amideast, and the U.S. Department of State. After experiences studying abroad in Egypt, Morocco, and Wales, Makkie is passionate about learning about other cultures and enjoys being able to meet students from all over the world through her work at UMD.
